Tally Installation Guide

Overview

Tally Quoter is a powerful Shopify app that enables:

  • Automatic image size calculation based on pixels
  • Automatic cropping of transparent pixels
  • Support for SVG, PNG, PDF, and JPEG uploads
  • Dynamic pricing based on image dimensions
  • Customizable quantity-based discounts

📦 EZ-Install Setup

Quick-start your Tally journey with our EZ-Install feature. This will automatically:

  • Create a pre-configured product template called "DTF Prints By Size"
  • Set up recommended pricing structure
  • Configure basic size and pricing settings
EZ-Install Setup

The EZ-Install option creates a pre-configured product template

After clicking, your product will be created and direct you to your template settings.

It is recommended to hide all blocks not related to Tally on a separate product template so that it is more visually appealing.

Initial Setup

  • Install Tally Quoter app from Shopify App Store
  • Access the app from your Shopify admin sidebar

Configure General Settings

Navigate to the Settings section to configure the following options:

Allowed File Types

Select which file types your customers can upload (PNG, JPG/JPEG, PDF, TIFF, SVG)

Set your color preferences for the upload card interface that customers will see:

Shipping Time Estimator

Configure shipping details including fulfillment days and location

Decimal, Free Shipping, and Language Settings

Set decimal precision, free shipping threshold, and default language

  • Color preferences: Set background and text colors for the upload interface
  • Allowed file types: Choose which formats customers can upload
  • Fulfillment days: Set the number of days required to fulfill orders
  • Business location: Select your nearest major city for shipping calculations
  • Free shipping options: Configure free shipping method and threshold amount
  • Measurement precision: Set decimal precision for dimensions (recommended: 2-3)
  • Language preferences: Choose default language for the user interface
  • Display badges: Enable/disable feature badges and notifications

Remember to save all changes after modifying settings.

Product Configuration

Item Filtration

Choose which products will use Tally functionality

Go to Item Filtration to select which products will use Tally:

  • Choose display options:
    • Show tally on all products
    • Show tally on specific products (recommended)
    • Show tally on specific collections
    • Show tally on products that match conditions
  • Search and select applicable products from your store

Configure Item Settings for each product:

Set price per unit and view example pricing calculations

Item Settings Part 2

Configure gang sheeting options, margins, and image quality requirements

  • Set printer specifications and pricing per unit (square inch/cm)
  • Configure maximum print sizes and minimum quantities
  • Enable/disable gang sheeting for optimized production
  • Set margins between images and maximum gangsheet width
  • Set DPI requirements for low, medium, and high quality (recommended: 150-300)
  • Configure optional checkout fees or requirements

Size Table Setup

Size Table Setup

Configure sizing tables for apparel products with precise measurements

  • Access the Size Table section to configure apparel sizing
  • Choose measurement units (inches or centimeters)
  • Select which categories to display (Female/Male/Youth/Baby Shirts/Hoodies)
  • Enter precise measurements for each size and placement area
  • Add custom sizes or placements as needed
  • Save table settings to apply changes

Size tables help customers visualize print sizes on garments and provide recommended placements.

Discount Configuration

Discount Table Generator

Create automatic volume discounts based on cart value

  • Use the Discount Table Generator to create volume pricing
  • Set measurement unit and price per measurement
  • Add cart value thresholds (e.g., $100, $150, $250)
  • Configure corresponding discount percentages for each threshold
  • Generate the discount table to see how pricing applies to different sizes
  • Export the table as PNG or HTML for marketing materials
  • Enable "Show on Upload Card" to display discount table to customers

The discount system automatically applies savings based on order total, encouraging larger purchases.

Theme Integration

  • Go to Online Store → Themes → Customize in your Shopify admin
  • Create a new product template specifically for Tally products
  • Add the TallyQuoter block to your template
  • Position the block appropriately on the product page
  • Hide unnecessary Shopify elements that conflict with Tally:
    • Price element (Tally will handle pricing)
    • Variants selector (not needed with Tally)
    • Quantity selector (Tally includes its own)
    • Inventory notice (not applicable for on-demand printing)
    • Buy buttons (Tally includes its own Add to Cart function)
  • Save your template changes

Creating a dedicated template ensures Tally displays correctly without conflicting with standard Shopify elements.

Final Product Setup

  • Navigate to Products in your Shopify admin
  • Select each product you want to enable with Tally
  • In the Theme template section, assign your Tally-specific template
  • Save changes for each product
  • Test the customer experience by viewing your products on the storefront

After completing this step, your products will be fully configured with Tally's automatic pricing and upload functionality.

Note: Always save changes after modifying any settings to ensure proper functionality. Each section has its own Save button that must be clicked before moving to the next section.
