Getting Started & Theme Setup

What is Tally and which products can I sell?

Tally adds configurable print builders to Shopify for By Size DTF, UV DTF and sublimation items; DTF, UV DTF and sublimation gang sheets; merch; individual stickers; sticker sheets; and business cards. It also includes artwork, pricing, production and reorder tools.

Do I need to edit theme code?

Most stores do not. Enable the Tally app embed, create the appropriate Shopify product template, add the matching Tally app block, assign the template to the product and test it. Highly customized themes may need minor layout adjustments.

Should every Tally product use the same Shopify template?

No. Dedicated templates for By Size, Gang Sheets, Merch, Stickers/Sticker Sheets and Business Cards prevent conflicting controls and make each buying flow easier to test.

Which native Shopify controls should I hide?

Hide any native quantity, variant, upload, buy or dynamic checkout control that bypasses settings Tally must capture. Keep the normal checkout path after the configured Tally item reaches the cart.

Does Tally work on mobile and with custom themes?

Yes. Always test uploads, previews, sticky headers, drawers, modals, cart editing and checkout on desktop and mobile before publishing a product.

How does the Get Help button work?

When enabled, a customer can invite your team to review their current item. Your configured support inbox receives a secure link so an authorized team member can open and help edit the design.

Product Builders

When should I use a By Size product?

Use By Size when customers upload one or more designs, choose exact printed dimensions and quantities, and pay from the configured area, unit, fees and discount rules. It fits DTF transfers, UV DTF and sublimation products.

What is the difference between a Gang Sheet and By Size ordering?

By Size prices individual artwork by its dimensions and quantity. A Gang Sheet gives the customer a fixed-width canvas where multiple designs are arranged across one or more sheets.

Does the Gang Sheet Builder automatically nest artwork?

Yes. Auto nesting helps arrange uploaded artwork efficiently while respecting the configured sheet width, spacing, margins and maximum output size. Customers can review and adjust the result before checkout.

What can customers configure in the Merch Builder?

Depending on your product, customers can select garments and colors, enter quantities by size, choose decoration locations, upload artwork, position it, review mockups and approve the configured order.

What is the difference between Stickers and Sticker Sheets?

Individual stickers are priced and produced as separate cut pieces. Sticker Sheets arrange one or more sticker designs on a defined sheet with sheet-level size, spacing, material and production rules.

Can Tally make kiss-cut and perf-cut paths?

Yes. Sticker settings can control contour style, bleed, CutContour and PerfCutContour production naming. Always test a production PDF with your RIP and cutter before launch.

Does Tally support front-and-back Business Cards?

Yes. Business Card products can require front and back artwork and include finished size, orientation, bleed, safe area, pack quantities, stock, coatings, finishes, fees and proof review.

Can customers edit an item after adding it to cart?

Yes, when Tally Cart Editor is installed. It can reopen the saved artwork and configuration so the customer can revise supported sizes, quantities, materials or design settings before checkout.

03

Pricing, Materials & Discounts

Which pricing units can I use?

Pricing can be configured by square inch, square centimeter or square millimeter where supported, or by a base/unit price. Product-specific minimums, quantities and fees can then refine the result.

What does the Materials Admin Menu control?

It lets you activate materials, add storefront thumbnails, set each material's maximum sheet width/output size, enable white ink or spot gloss capabilities and choose its pricing behavior.

How are specialty materials priced?

A specialty material can use its own area rate, a base price or a percentage increase over the standard material. Verify the final price at small, typical and maximum sizes.

What is Volume Discount Pricing?

Volume discounts reward larger orders based on configured cart or quantity tiers. Tally applies the eligible discount automatically so the customer sees the benefit while building the order.

What are Print Area Discounts?

Print area discounts reward customers when the total printed square area reaches configured thresholds. This is useful when production efficiency improves with more printed area even if item quantities vary.

Can I offer both volume and print-area discounts?

Yes. They are separate pricing strategies and can both be configured. Test how the rules interact at every threshold so the resulting margin matches your intent.

Can Tally add setup, rush or specialty fees?

Yes. Supported products can include minimums and optional or required fees for setup, additional print locations, specialty processes, rush work or other shop-defined services.

What does the Pricing & Templates AI do?

You can describe the prices, materials, discounts, templates and fees you want in plain language. The settings agent proposes changes, remembers the product's current configuration between prompts and can revise settings on the fly after you review them.

04

Artwork, Gallery & AI Tools

Which artwork tools are available?

Tally can provide AI upscale, vectoring, halftoning, mockup generation, background removal, replace/remove color, Auto Sizer, Name/Number generation and Trans Clean depending on the enabled workflow.

Does AI upscale guarantee print quality?

No automated enhancement can recreate every missing detail. Upscale can improve low-resolution artwork, but the merchant or customer should still review DPI, edges, fine text and the production preview.

What is Trans Clean?

Trans Clean removes unwanted semi-transparent edge pixels that can create halos or dirty edges in print. Review fine details after processing to ensure intentional transparency remains.

How does the Custom Gallery work?

Merchants organize approved artwork into searchable folders with names, descriptions and thumbnails. Customers can browse the enabled gallery and insert a design directly into a supported builder.

Can I add custom fonts to the Gang Sheet Builder?

Yes. Upload a supported licensed font, give it a recognizable name and category, then test letters, numbers, punctuation, scaling and final output before making it available.

05

Orders, Production & Reordering

What is the Print Dashboard?

The Print Dashboard supports customer order history, saved artwork, downloadable files and fast reordering. Merchants should install its app block on a dedicated Shopify page and test customer access.

Can a customer reorder without rebuilding everything?

Yes. Supported reorder flows can restore prior artwork and configuration so a customer can review current pricing and options, make changes if needed and order again.

What does reprocessing an order do?

Reprocessing lets production remove or replace an image, change its quantity or correct the file and generate the order again without making the customer rebuild and repurchase the entire sheet.

Can I see order and production analytics?

Yes. The supported analytics dashboards help review order activity and production workflow information so teams can understand volume, status and operational performance.

How do pickup QR codes and the Auto Pickup Notifier work?

Configure local pickup city, cutoff, fulfillment time, time zone and hours; enable pickup QR output on applicable products; then mark an order ready in Tally Orders. Scan the QR during testing to confirm the order and pickup status.

06

Tally Drop

What is Tally Drop?

Tally Drop lets merchants sell supported print products through their own Shopify storefront and route eligible paid, print-ready orders to a preferred Tally Drop Print Partner for fulfillment.

Who controls the storefront price?

The merchant controls the customer-facing retail price. Review the current partner cost, then set a price and discount structure that preserves the margin you expect.

Does Tally charge usage fees on Tally Drop orders?

Tally does not charge Tally usage fees on Tally Drop orders. Shopify fees, partner costs, shipping, taxes, refunds and other applicable adjustments can still affect the order and margin.

Are all orders eligible for same-day fulfillment?

No. Same-day fulfillment applies only to eligible, paid, print-ready orders submitted before the current cutoff and accepted under the current partner rules. Review the live terms before promising turnaround.

How should I test a Tally Drop product?

Complete a paid test order and verify storefront pricing, discounts, artwork readiness, cart data, partner cost, expected margin, shipping, routing, production files and order status before accepting live traffic.

07

Billing, Files & Support

How is Tally billed?

Tally subscription billing is handled through Shopify Billing. Review the current plan details inside the app or on the pricing page.

Which files can customers upload?

Supported formats can include PNG, JPEG, PDF, TIFF, SVG, AI and PSD. Merchants choose which formats fit their workflow; production teams should test every enabled format.

Where can I find full installation instructions?

Use the complete Setup Instructions for theme blocks, every product type, sticker settings, pricing, dashboards, pickup and Tally Drop.
