Refund Policy
Last Updated: December 2024
14-Day Free Trial — No Credit Card Required
Test every feature before you commit. That's our promise.
Why We Have This Policy: As a bootstrapped software company, every subscription matters. We've designed our trial period to give you ample time to evaluate Tally before committing. We encourage you to thoroughly test the software during your trial to ensure it meets your needs.
Our Trial-First Philosophy
We believe in earning your business, not locking you in. That's why we offer:
- 14 days free — Full access to all features, no limitations
- No credit card required — Zero risk to try
- Cancel anytime during trial — Walk away with no charges
Because of this generous trial period, we expect customers to evaluate Tally thoroughly before subscribing.
Refund Eligibility
Monthly Subscriptions
- First 72 hours: Full refund available if Tally doesn't work as advertised
- After 72 hours: No refunds for the current billing period; cancel anytime to prevent future charges
- Cancellation is effective immediately—you retain access until the end of your paid period
Annual Subscriptions
- First 14 days: Full refund available
- After 14 days: No refunds; you've committed to the annual term
- Annual subscribers save 20%—this discount reflects the commitment
Important: Refunds are intended for customers who experience genuine technical issues or find that Tally doesn't perform as described. The 14-day free trial exists so you can evaluate the software before paying. "Change of mind" or "didn't use it much" are not valid refund reasons after the trial period.
When We WILL Issue Refunds
- Critical technical issues on our end that prevent you from using Tally
- Features not working as explicitly described in our documentation
- Billing errors (duplicate charges, incorrect amounts)
- Service outages lasting more than 48 consecutive hours
When We Will NOT Issue Refunds
- Change of mind after the refund window
- Not using the software ("forgot I had it")
- Issues caused by your Shopify theme, third-party apps, or store configuration
- Dissatisfaction with features that were clearly documented and available during trial
- Business closure or change in business model
- Violation of our Terms of Service
How to Request a Refund
- Email Matthew@tallyquoter.com with subject line "Refund Request"
- Include your store name and specific reason for the request
- Describe any technical issues you experienced (with screenshots if possible)
- We'll respond within 24-48 hours with our decision
Approved refunds are processed within 5-10 business days through Shopify's billing system.
How to Cancel Your Subscription
Cancellation is easy and doesn't require contacting us:
- Go to your Shopify Admin → Settings → Apps and sales channels
- Find Tally and click "Cancel subscription" or uninstall
- Your access continues until the end of your current billing period
No hoops, no retention calls, no guilt. We respect your decision.
A Note From the Founder
"I built Tally as a solo developer over two years of sleepless nights. Every subscription directly supports continued development of new features and improvements. I stand behind this product because I use it myself every day. If something genuinely isn't working, I want to know about it and I'll make it right. But I also ask that you give the free trial a real shot before subscribing—it exists so you never have to ask for a refund."
— Matthew Parsons, Founder
